Electroc Windows Switch

Post by pmackc »

Hi, newbie here, so be gentle.
My switch (11857) appears to be faulty. Windows would go down, but not back up.
Arnold Clark managed to get them back up, but wanted £140 for a new switch.
Stupidly tried the left window, and it went down slightly.
Bought a 11587, this put the left window up, then nothing else that side.
Drivers window would go up and down (counldn't stop it though), this worked for about 10mins, then nothing again.

I am worred there is something else wrong with it because the roof leaked slightly and water got into the interior light switch and was flickering the battery light on the dash.

Since I didn't know what to do next, both windows are creeping down, so I need advice on either.
How to electrically drive the windows up from the contacts on the switch block, or manually having to take the door panel off (which I am struggling with too).
A wiring diagram would be preffered.

Any advice to get these windows back up would be much appreciated.

cheers Pete.

If water got into the interior light then it is likely to have got in under the roof aerial. You will need to replace the seal under the aerial.
