Hi missnicedell hello and welcome to the site sorry to hear about your roof but before you go to a dealer you may like to try using some silicone grease on the seals this soften the area and hopefully makea seal.
you should get some from a motor discount store.when you open your roof stop it about half way down grease seals then continue to lower roof to end of operation then raise roof unless its sunny of course :)
i have got my self into the habbit of using silicone spray on my seals every couple of months (KEV)

Welcome missnicedell

Yeah, I would try what redkev says before you lay out any money. I do my seals every few months too and it seems to keep them supple. I manage to do it with the roof down though...the thought of stopping the roof half way always scares me! :yikes:

This is the product I have http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... 65705#dtab

Hey, just had a little read of this and its got me intriqued! My roof leaks a tiny little bit after its been raining (if i brake hard or turn a sharp corner). Are you telling me that if i used some of this stuff every few weeks then it could stop this problem?? ( i know nothing about cars btw!!).
Also, is it not harmful to the roof mechanisms to stop it half way???
Would be uber greatful for any information that anyone has!!

Yes it could as it helps make a better seal. No promises but for £4 a can is it not worth a try?

You are right to be concerned about stopping your roof halfway. If you do attempt this, do follow the instructions in your handbook very precisely, and don't switch off your ignition when doing it. And don't take long either.

I prefer never to stop my roof halfway if I can help it.

I hope i have not frightened anybody regarding stoping roof to do seals i used to have an astra twintop which could be stopped half way this would last for 10 mins i am now going to follow craigdmjvs'advice and do it when in the boot and as grandadmonkey says never turn the ignition off when doing it hope i haven't mislead anyone (KEV)
