Roof catches Bong! but then roof release button only Bleeps?

Any help please would be appreciated!

3 day new owner of 206cc ~ 2002 plate ~ roof worked fine in garage but think I’ve buggered it up somehow?!!

I have pulled shelve in boot across, turned key to light instruments up, (but not started the engine) Undone roof catches, hear a “Bong” ~ lifted roof release button and a beeping alarm sort of noise sounds ~ but nothing else happens!

Any idea what I have done wrong???

Well, the confirmation tone after you release roof catches indicates you haven't done anything wrong, but more like there is another problem somewhere else in the mechanism...

Moving the roof takes alot of power, I reccommend you have the engine running while you do this - if the battery is very low, the roof may not go? Not sure...

Thanks for the reply ~ once I knew I was doing everything in the right sequence, I tried again!

In the boot I noticed that the left hand side holder that you clip the roof shelve into is loose ~ I tightened it a little and hey presto roof working fine again!

I assume the bleeping noise that I was getting was a warning that the shelf wasn’t closed ~ even though it was, I don’t think the sensor was connected!
