Please can someone help whilst driving along and changing gear my clutch pedal is making a cracking noise when pressing down had an incident few weeks ago when I tried to pull away in 1st gear the car kind of just jumped forward and clutch pedal (well in foot well area) made a noise and car stalled. Turned everything off and tried again and car still didn't want to move. So my partner pushed me off the road and we waited for few mins to decide what to do and I said I would try again and this time car moved I was very cautious on putting foot down on clutch pedal and have been since but it still intermittedly makes the cracking noise. I took car to local mechanic who took car for little drive but of course it didn't happen then. his advise was to wait until it happens again!! I would say it happens approx 6 -10 times on 10 mile drive to work. Any advice on what it could be would be great Thank you
