My 206CC tells me that the boot is open. This is displayed by a illuminated rear on the dashboard. This can sometimes be overcome by constantly opening and closing the boot.
My problem is that when the car thinks the boot is open I cannot open the roof?
It sounds like a sensor problem with the boot catch. Can anyone advise what I should do to confirm/fix this problem.
on the boot latch there are 2 microswitches. One tells the alarm when the boot is opened and the other tells the roof ecu when the boot is closed.
If you look at the boot catch (the lower part) you will see 2 silver levers lay above the switches side by side. sometimes they come out or are bent sideways so the switches dont work properly.
What I did was remove the catch from the car (3 torx screws and unplug cable) and then unclipped the spring. I then had easy access to the silver levers and was able to place them back into their correct positions. then reattached the spring and replaced the catch onto the car and it al worked fine.
This should solve the problem.
You can buy the microswitches separate from the boot catch if needed.
