Hi all,
Im hoping someone can help me out here because Im out of options!!!
So.... My V reg 206 has developed a problem where sometimes it will not start. It seems to happen randomly but its getting worse. Most of the time it will start and run 100% fine. But sometimes Ill get in and it will turn over but never actually start and ill have to bump start it, other times it will turn over for 5-10 seconds and eventually start but just before it starts i can hear a hiss/caught noise and it comes to life.
Its all very odd, when it struggles to start but eventually does sometimes the revs will go up 30,000! instead of the stood till 10,000 range? I have to drive off with the engine reving way too high and after a few mins it will calm down, a few times its calmed down too much and stalled!
I took it to my garage and they replaced sparks just incase it was that, but its still doing it. They said it could be a number of things and the best thing to do is get a diagnostic guy they know who will come and plug a computer in to do tests - now he tried be he couldn't get into the cars computer? something to do with the bolts not coming off so he could get in.
So im a bit stuck!! Its been starting fine this week then suddenly today at lunch it wouldn't go, a quick bump start and it was running fine.
Does this sound like anything obvious? The garage say it could be allsorts, no point just replacing parts and hoping it sorts it - and the diagnostic guy cant even plug into the car!
Arrghhhhhh!!
Any help / advice is much appreciated!
