Software update - Is it worth doing ?

The car is fine.

I just wondered if it was worth paying to get the cars software/ECU etc updated to the latest version.

If there are any added benefits.

I work on the "if it ain't broke..." principal but would be interested to hear if the upgrade is worth doing.
