Minor Damage Insurance

Having just got my gorgeous cc I am feeling really anal about her getting hurt! A while back I saw a thing on the TV which was about 'minor damage' insurance. It basically insured your vehicle for about a hundred quid a year in the event of minor damages (got a feeling the max claim was about £500 but no max to the number of claims) ie trolley dashers, idiots who open car doors on you, plonkers who scrape your bumper when pulling out of parking spaces ----- you know the sort! As I am a nurse parking in the tooooo tight spaces in the hospital staff car park, and knowing only too well how bad the MALE nurses are at parking I would like to take this insurance out ---- only now i cant remember who it is that does it! The insurance was totally separate from 'normal' insurance and didnt affect no-claims bonus etc. Anyone got any ideas on the providers? Any help would be much appreciated! Helen x

I've never heard of that but it sounds like a good idea. I'm like you and I take care of my car but it's the damage that other people do that annoys me.
I suppose depending on how much damage you are likely to receive, it may be cheaper to just have minor damage repaired annually by someone like Chipsaway. I found this link to similar companies http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/damage
Will be interested if anyone can come up with an actual company/policy that covers minor damage though.

Hi, Well I actually found a link at the bottom of the page that you posted which took me to what I was looking for!www.car2cover.co.uk/Quote-Me-For-Smart-Insurance - 3 years cover was quoted at £229 which will pay out up to a maximum of £3000 over the period for the repair of stone chips, bumper scrapes, trolley dents and all those other annoying things! Can be taken out at any time, on any age car and will have no effect on no-claims bonus. If I come up with a cheaper one I will get back to you. Helen
