Hi, got a 206 diesel small van 1.4, 53 reg. The problem is that the engine will not turn over first time on mornings or when it has not been used for a couple of hours. No warning lights appear, battery has been checked and no problems found. It will however start after turning key several times. I have noticed an orange "coil"light that comes on then off when I have just turned the key, a friend suggested that heater plugs need changed, when I took it to the garage for advice I was told that it did not have heater plugs??? Sorry I don`t have a manual.

Also noticed it chugging when pulling away in 1st gear. Any suggestions to both problems.

Thank you

A diesel without glow plugs? What a novel idea! Your glow plug light sounds normal so your problem doesn't sound like them.
Sounds more like your starter motor's had it. Could be terminals, connections, earth strap though, so I'd check those first. Could be immobiliser ring too.
Chugging in first gear? Keep the revs up a bit before letting your clutch out.
Welcome to the forum, which is really for 206cc owners. Not many vans on here.
