Hi

We have a 53 (2004) Reg 206cc, which we valeted last night during which time the roof worked fine. It did seem a bit dodgy though, at first we thought maybe we were opening windows or something in the wrong order but now we have a feeling that it was a deeper problem.

Anyway, we came to open it today and nothing happened.

I have had a good read through the forum and hes what has been established.

At first, with windows down etc when we released the two roof catches we got the correct beeping noise. But when we came to click the switch to open the roof nothing happened apart fro that ANNOYING beeping noise.

Anyway I have checked those 2 white loops either side of the boot hinge area and still nothing, I also released pressure using the allen key, and locked car etc, still nothing.

Next up we checked the Microswitch on the part that the roll out cover sits on, we checked for a live feed either side of the wires and we checked that when the little metal bit is clicked down, it creates a feed, which it did, so we are presuming that one is ok.

Now since having a look around, the roof has stopped beeping when the catches are released.

Could anybody explain to me where the other micro switches are and how to identify them as we are really stuck as to what needs doing.

We had a couple drive from southampton upto Warwickshire today to buy it and they left empty handed because of this problem :(

Thank you

You must be the Thierry Richards from Oak Hill?

Welcome to the forum.

see post #2 for guidance on how to access the diagramatic explanation of the whereabouts of the 11 microswitches. (Click on Repair Guide in the menu on the top left hand side of the page.)

Best of luck.

Hi

Thanks for help, I looked through repair guide but couldnt see that page before.

So would you suggest we just check the switches physically and by looking etc, check for lose wires etc etc?

Either that or take it to a main dealer. That might be quicker as they'll be doing them all the time and be familiar with them hopefully. I've never worked on a roof myself and would take it to the experts personally.
