How good or bad is the roof ?

Hi folks

Glad to have found you, and hope you can take some time to help me out.

My wife has test-driven a 206cc, March '03 1.6 s, and really likes it :lol2:

Managed to have a drive with the roof down, and she REALLY liked it !! lol

We drove it after it had rained for a few days, car being on dealers forecourt, and no smell of damp etc

She is however, very concerned about the roof, as her cousin has an Eos, and has major problems with it's roof.

I know we're talking different manufacturers, but should my wife be that concerned about the long-term use of the roof, its maintenance, and potential leaks ?

If you search the Roof problems forum you'll find plenty. However, we have an 05 plate 206cc and have never had a problem with our roof. You must follow the operating instructions in the handbook to the letter, and never, ever, switch off the ignition while the roof is being operated. Seals do harden and wear with age. Maintenance of the roof is probably best left to your Peugeot main dealer.

Don't forget too that these cars have a cambelt. Make sure that isn't due for renewal, or, if you're lucky it has been done already.

Carry out all the normal checks on the car before you buy. Tyres, brakes, battery, running ok from cold start, lights, indicators, full service history.
