Evening people, Im am very new and only stumbled across you lot because i have just broken my sisters 206CC  She is coming back from holiday tomorrow so thought i would be nice and clean her car. Whilst doing so i opened the hood, did the interior etc and then shut it. Went to wash the outside and it was p*****g water in on the passenger side like you cant believe  SO. I opens the hood to find that one of the rubber buffer pads (found on either side of where the locking hooks locate) had come off and was now stuck to the windscreen pillar. Easy thinks i, stop the roof half way up, locate the rubber wotsit, roof back down, job jobbed. NOW when i came to get the roof back down it wouldnt move........

After consulting the (highly confusing) manual i still cant figure out how to get it sorted again. I have un done the allen key and got the roof shut and locked but the boot lid (or, tail flap as it is at the moment) is the confusing bit. I can get it to turn back into a boot lid as it is still hinged at the very back of the car and not below the rear windscreen (as it would be if it was a 'boot lid') any suggestions?? I really dont want to take it to the stealers tommorow and get my wallet smashed to bits......

As you can see from my Avatar, i dont own one of these cars (im a confirmed GTI-6 driver :firedevil: ) and im a regular on www.306gti6.com so i know what newbies get flamed for! I have had a quick search and cat seem to find anything, but that could be down to the blind panick that im now in :( Just out of interest, how much will the dealers charge me to sort this sh*t out?????

Many thanks in advance,

John

Take it to the Peugeot garage and get it reset for her. Might get away with £50. Take it to the one your sister gets it serviced at, as they will know the car.

You can't blame her (or the car, or the dealers) if you didn't read the manual before messing about with her car.

Buy her a nice bouquet of flowers to show her how sorry you are John.

Well, I got this sorted! She has only had the car a few months and its not due a service yet so no one has really had much to do with the car. Driving a pretty specialised Peugeot myself i took it to an independant who knows his stuff (Steve plain in Sheffield, cant recommend this guy enough) I dropped it off with him on saturday morning as i only work round the corner and he phoned me an hour later to say it was all done, the rubber bit that had come off was back in place and the hood had been re set and thoroughly tested :D One happy customer. £35.00 plus VAT. I was very, VERY impressed! Best of all, i had it all home and back on the drive well before she had even got back from the airport ;)

Anyway, just to say i did get a bit of info off here that helped so thankyou very much  oh, no flowers needed, she now has a gleaming black CC with a fully detailed interior :P

Well done John, a super result! Glad you got it sorted so reasonably.
Good to have your recommendation of a decent indy in Sheffield too. There are plenty of owners who dislike using main dealers and word of mouth recommendations are worth a lot, thanks.
