My 206cc 1.6 04 reg is causing me some concern. The problem is when I try to pull off after being parked up for a few hours. It seems that the car loses all power when going from 1st to 2nd. Sometimes it feels like the car is going to stall but then all of a sudden pulls off really suddenly and the speed picks up! Not sure if I'm explaining this clearly but basically the car seems to totally lose all power. Any one got any ideas what this could be??? Spark plugs maybe?? or maybe even engine management???

Hi Paula,
Does it just do this when the engine is cold? Does it run OK when warm?
IIRC your car has only done less than 20k miles. When was the oil last changed? What oil/grade was used? What fuel are you using? Where do you buy it?
Doubt if it'd be plugs if they've only done 20k but I suppose they are 5 years old.
I wonder whether it could be the plug in unit at the base of your accelerator pedal on the way out - but that's just a guess...
Answers to the above questions might throw more light on the matter, or someone else may have some thoughts???

Would be interested to know the diagnosis paulan1987. Mine has a similar problem, when pulling away from cold, sometimes it can lose it's umph...not great when pulling out of a busy junction in rush hour traffic. I have got used to it and get around it by giving it more gas but would be interested to see what your garage says.
