I know some folk think I'm mad when I query what petrol is being put into the car but look here
http://www.206info.co.uk/ForumsPro/view ... +idle.html
I have had cars that just will not run properly when using supermarket fuel. The ECU on 206cc's adjusts itself according to the quality/octane rating of the fuel you put in it. I've been using Shell V-Power in ours and it has never run better. Stick to the quality products and you'll most probably find that your tickover problem goes away.

Does the engine management warning lamp come on? If not try this.
Turn off car engine.
Turn ignition key to 3rd position. Position just before turning car engine over.
Wait for fuel pump to stop pumping. Or temp needle to initialize on dash.
Then start car.
Also good to wait for car to pump oil around before pulling off. And give the car a few dabs on the accelerator pedal.
My belief is its something to do with the engine management software. There are some threads when the forum just started stating that Peugeot were changing said software on early models to a new version.
If the engine warning lamp is on then do not do the above. It could be sticking tappets, spark plugs or ignition coil etc.

GrandadMonkey, i can't afford V-Power in my country as they are super expensive
. i'll try what lastvts said, but anyway thanks for ALL for all valuable insights. I've decided to go for a photo shooting with my car to some nice hills. This doesn't sound too sissy or weird, right? Cos I'm feeling i'm really in love with my car now...crap!

Give the ECU time to adjust. A couple of tankfuls should give it a chance to do so. If there's still a problem after that....

Good luck with that. How many miles has the car done and how many miles has the current set of plugs done? Reap has mentioned that it is best to use the specific Bosch plugs for the car, I've never changed the plugs on ours (only done 18000 miles).
