Gearbox selector switch replacment

I have a 02 plated 206cc and the gearbox selector switch seems to be faulty according to a gearbox chap look at it. When you move the stick between option it is sometime slow to react and sometime you need to drop it down to 2 to get the box to engage then flick it up to drive. This has been happening since I got the car 2 years ago so its not about to go on me.

This chap was going to replace the switch for me but has never come back to me after I agreed. Has any one ever changed one? If so is it accessible? I am not a novice under the bonnet of a car but I have no manual. If anyone has an e-copy of the manual for this car would they email me a copy of the pages covering replacement of this switch.

Any other help/comments about this problem would be appreciated.

they fairly easy to fit although the big wiring block connector a mare to take out and strip for multifunction switch loom,and also the gates or adjustments ideally need to be set up on the diagnostics. other wise you may get it locked in park.

difficult factor of about 7 out of 10.
