Help required quickly please...
I have a 206cc with the JBL in the boot, after much deliberation decided to change the head unit. It was a close run between the apline cde-103bt and the pioneer deh-p700bt, which was recommended by doughnut on here, but after hunting I couldn't find anywhere stocking the pioneer as it's discontuned...
I ended up with the alpine, but the sound is hellish, the volume control is diffucult - there's a huge jump between each stage so it generally sits at 2 or 3, but should go up to 30! I'm guessing this is because it's amplified in the JBL unit.
Has anyone else had experience of replacing the head unit with a car that has the JBL amp, and if so what if anything can be done to iron out the volume prob, Doughnut, I know you replied, can you tell me if your volume control is easy to use and allows smoother use?
Alternatively, has anyone got a pioneer unit in a non jbl car they want to swap for an alpine???

Hello Robin,
I've noticed that a new Pioneer range has come out recently, very similar to the DEH-P700BT unit I have. Part numbers are:
DEH-P7100BT
DEH-P6100BT
The 6100 is the less expensive unit but doesn't look like it supports IP bus so may not provide in car display operation with the adapter. The 7100 looks the better bet, although both support Ipod, bluetooth phone/audio streaming and USB in.
Cheers
