Hello boys and girls,
I've got a 206 CC 52 Reg. About a month ago i was driving when i first heard a grinding sound coming from the front of the car, sounded like metal on metal. I took the car into a friends garage who put it up on the ramp, he diagnosed it as the anti roll bar rubbing against the wishbone, i could see this myself... so bought the anti roll bar from Peugeot. They then managed to move the old one enough without having to use the new one but the problem was still there.
They then thought it was the Power steering pump, so i called Peugeot who wanted £204 +vat for the pump, i asked if i could refund the roll bar as it hadn't been used and they refused. So i refused to buy the pump just in case this was not the problem. Found a pump on ebay in the end for £55 so bought it...
2 days later the pumps fitted and the noise is still happening, getting worse now.. so i basically towed the car over to my dads house as the garage were going to charge me storage. They have no idea what the problem is.
The noise only happens when im driving, it doesn't make any difference if you change gear. There are no problems with reversing the car or when the car is stationary. The only way i can describe it is its like a whurring, grinding sound..
The car is now just sat around, i've had 2 people look at it, neither one really know what the problem is....
has anyone else experianced anything like this?
Whurring Metal on Metal sound can ANYONE help please :(

I've got that same grinding noise frm my front right wheel when i turn left only...Had it by a few guys and they both could not find any problems...Then oneday it went away and then washed my car and as soon as i hit the brakes it came back...IMO i think it's gotta do with the brakes...My car will be going in for a service next month and then i'll ask the peugeot mechanics to have a look...I'll keep u guys informed
