I currently have a 2002 cc and I've read many articles about radio problems and wondered if anybody had managed to remedy theirs??

Currently, the factory fitted Clarion CD player works perfectly, but the radio doesn't work at all. I've tested the aerial and it doesn't seem to be this, it seems like it has lost its memory and then when I retune a station in it is still unable to actually pick up the station and just crackles. It's driving me mad, can anybody offer any advise??

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Shez

Go back to the dealer you bought it from and ask them to put it right.

Mine is now fixed, but I had to take it to a local Clarion repair Centre in Wiltshire who were absolutely excellent, (Peugeot informed me that it had to be sent to France for assessment/repair??). This process cost £86, and then the stereo had to be remarried to the car which cost an extra £16. Works perfectly now though.

Hi everyone - I've got an intermittent radio fault that seems similar to things other people have reported but not quite the same! :(

My car is a late 2001 (51-reg) 1.6 CC and as far as I know the radio/CD player is the original fitted one.

Three or four times now I have lost all the saved radio stations and had to retune them. On a recent 4-day trip up North this happened twice in 4 days!

The CD player works fine 95% of the time, but sometimes I get crackling through the speakers that sounds like radio interference but obviously can't be! This is usually followed by the CD player ceasing to work altogether - the display just freezes with the current track number and "00". After turning it off and waiting half an hour it plays normally again.

I think the two problems are connected as they seem to happen at the same time. At first I suspected a loose connection from the battery but surely that would "kill" it altogether and it would need re-setting by the dealer, as happened once when I had a flat battery?

Any ideas or has my radio/CD simply come to the end of its useful life? Any suggestions for a replacement that includes a USB socket for an MP3 player and still allows operation by the steering column stalk?

All the best

Rob

I have the same problem,CD works but radio crackles, tried switching out the radio and also tried remarrying it as suggested in another thread but no joy.
My mechanic said it needs a new aerial wired through to the radio.

How easy is it to replace the aerial and base, does the aerial wire plug into the base..how is it connected?

Thanks - I might give it a try!

Of course now it has been working perfectly for the last 2 weeks!
