I folks,

I'm hoping someone here can help - I had my front tyres changed at a local garage and the day after noticed, a 'whizzing noise' when turning the wheel at low speed.

I took it straight back to the garage and they said it was power steering, either a loose belt or low fluid level. And not related to changing the front tyres.

By the end of the day, the power steering had stopped working, so I got some of the fliud and filled her up. For now the power steering is working.

The question is...

Could a mech working to change the tyres possibly cause a Power Steering leak?

My power steering unit was cracked and leaked all over the alternator (which is stupidly underneath the power steering - bad design or what???). Had to replace both in the end cost over 600quid. So get them to check nothings cracked and leaking.
