hia guys.
for a while now ive been considering taking my job another step further, and thought i might start doing my own independant work along with my day job.ive had many people asking for help and have shown great intrest in repairing, looking at their cars.
my question is....if i undertake such a task?who would be interested or is a majority of people happy with prices and service they get from their main dealer?
just doing the research and sums at the mo, ive been on this forum for a few years now and have been made fully fledged mastertec.
please feel free to post so i can gauge an acurate responce.
thanks for your time

I go to an independant garage locally where I live and am very, very happy with them and have recommended them to friends and family etc. Ive never had to take cars back after they've had work done on it and Ive been going there for approx 3 or 4 years, so I consider myself fortunate as you hear so many horror story's about garages, both main dealers and independants.
I don't go near my local Peugeot dealer if I can help it - they're rubbish. (Sorry Peugeot - but they are!) The Sales department was ok (surprise surprise) but any dealings with them after that has been a total waste of time.
I know some people want main dealers stamps on their service history books, but to be honest Ive never had a problem selling on my car without this, they're just happy its been regularly serviced and looked after, so I dont see how that matters too much.
I dont even mind paying a bit extra for servicing, as they can't compete with Peugeot's 99 quid servicing offers etc, I'd rather pay 150-200 quid and know everythings been done properly.
So there you go if you need any encouragement, go for it. Once people know your good and reliable and wont mess them about, you'll have them queuing up at the door!!!
