I just bought new chrome backlights from Autostyle and it doesnt fit!!!:evil:
The plastic material around the light is bigger and it has different shape! I have waited 5weeks for this one and now I'm sooo pissed...
Dont you know,what can be the problem? Could it be wrong lights from classic 206?
The next surprise was,the lights didnt shine after the plugging in the connector...(wiring?)
Did you have the same problem,when changing the old backlights???
You push the lights in and it doesnt go in all the way? as if the light housing sticks out too far?
If so I had the same problem as well as many others. In the end we took a hacksaw to it and removed the offending part (about half an inch of plastic) so that the light unit slides all the way in.
maybe someone can clear this up but i think the lights are different for the standard 206 and the 206cc, maybe you have the 206 ones and not the 206cc, im not sure. Anyway if you want to do a DIY job then check below.
It's exactly as mine were. The amount you cut off is where the half inch of rubber cover is (green circled) the rubber part is what is stopping it from sliding in. You will need to waterproof the housing in some way... i used the old foam from the original lights.
Its totally up to you if you want to do this as cutting up something you have just paid good money for is a bit daunting. It's not a magic solution and also not a perfect fit afterwards, but it was good enough for me... totally up to you (this is my disclaimer)

Hmm,thanx dude,but when i tried to fit it,the red-marked plastic part was the only thing that stopped it...
You left that plastic part there as at the picture??? Now I am completely confused:mrgreen:

BTW-Some fella says,these lights are from classic 206,havent we got the right stuff?:lol:

When I got my Lexus style lights I had to cut the plastic flap back as per the picture outlined in red. However I didnt have to do anything to the rubber seal or sealing faces though (as outlined in green). Hope that helps.
Pretty sure there was a FAQ about this on here. When the CC first came out, you could only get the lights for the ordinary 206 and an area had to be cut away to fit. I'm almost certain it was the red area shown in your pictures.
Might be worthwhile e-mailing Lyndon or Derek to see if they remember. Or swap your lights for CC ones -- I reckon you have ordinary 206 ones.

It's so long ago I can't remember what bit you cut off, but......
I do remember if you tried to fit the light then you could see what bit of plastic was stopping it going in and that gave you an idea of how much and where to cut away from.
If still the same as before, then just use a sharp knife and the plastic should break off easily.

if i remember right i made a paper template of the plastic flap on the ORIGINAL light, then placed it on the lexus light drew round it with a marker pen then cut it off, almost sure i used a pair of tin snips (like big scissors) not a prefect fit but did the job.
I've finally been able to replace my rear light with a new unit, I am a lazy bitch
I bought the 206 light for 10 quid ( a pair of them! ) and had to cut of a small part of the black plastic but more than one inch. I was quite distressed because I started cutting off too little, being careful. And then I installed the
light and closed the rear and then the rear did not open,the lights were blocking it! lol Luckily I was able to remove the rearlight and cut enough off and not it's fine. There is about 4 mm ( 0.15 inch ) space compared to the left rearlight but it's fine with me. A new CC light would cost me like 60-80 quid installed and this one was 15 quid inc postage. And I have a left spare one.
