Did anyone have a similar problem like me? It's the big thick rubber band holding the coolant container (the one above the engine) on a metal mount.

Not sure whether it's too hot in the engine bay thats melting the rubber or is the sharp edge on the metal mount cutting thru the rubber.

Its posts like this that remind me i really must open my bonnet more and have a poke around for things like this. Because i (still!) at present have no probs i have to admit that i don't think i've looked under the bonnet for well over 2 months.
Thanks Wilsonson....

I've had my six month service a while back and never bothered looking under my bonnet to date.

I always religiously looked under the bonnet in the past. I suppose as cars become more reliable and go for longer between services, I've been lulled into a false sense of security. Must write on my hand "remember to open the bonnet and check my levels".

Robbie.

Yes it is a little weird that I haven't yet run out of washer, but then I don't tend to use my Pug when it rains.

Wilsonson, sorry mate but I haven't come across that problem anywhere on this Forum before.
