Does anyone have a problem with wind noise when you go over 70?... not that I go that fast that is..

The wind noise is through the rear windows and despite being back to the garage FIVE times, they still can't fix it. They've even tried replacing the seals.

Any suggestions?

Sorry, but the only wind noise I get is after eating beans!

No wind noise when the hood is up.

Sorry Grainne, but I don't have any wind noise and to be honest I would be thinking along the lines of rejecting it if it is excessive and Peugeot are unable to repair it despite numerous attempts.

After all, one of the benefits of the metal roof should be that you get no noise unlike the rag tops.

Robbie.

i don't really get any wind noise but there was some in the 1st CC from the top of the quarter window drivers side.

they didn't make any difference after their first repair attempt, but as far as trying again goes that was really the least of my worries at the time.

now some other poor bugger is probably driving it

I've had it nearly six months now and done 2,500 miles. Surely I can't reject it after all this time?? :???:

rejection could be a bit tricky after that length of time. mines had done 2700 when rejected but was only 79 days old and i had use of the car for only 43 days.

try being a bit more forceful with your dealer as they seem to be making a fool of you. i have found getting a courtesy car off them and then telling them they get it back when by car is ready works a bit better. also makes things a bit more fun

It all depends when you notified them of the noise, if it was reasonably early in the cars life, then you have the law on your side. If however you delayed telling them about the fault, then the longer its left the harder it is to reject the car.

Our car leaks, as we notified them two days after delivery that it leaked, it does not matter now that it is 6 months and 4k miles down the road, the law is on our side and makes it easier for rejection.

I've had an update from the garage....

They've said that they can't rectify the problem as it occurs at over 70mph and their employees can't drive over 70 to find out whether they've sorted the problem or not!!

I got the car in Jan and complained of wind noise in Feb, Mar, Apr and May.

Hmm don't like that answer from Peugeot. Sounds suspicially to me that Peugeot are on the defensive.

Well, some smart Peugeot employee must have tested the concept car at some point to the maximum speed and if the cars good for some 137mph then they should guarantee that it performs to a reasonable standard under the right conditions up to the limit. If they claim not to have a local fast test track or mechanical rolling road they must have a central one. They can go to silverstone or the autobhan if they have to, but that really isn't your problem, it's theirs.

Balls firmly in their court,

Good luck,

Robbie.

when my dealer supposedly fixed my rear rattle that i had from day 1, on the road test it seemed ok apart from on certain roads at 80mph + it re-appeared although not as bad.

the guy on the road test with me said the same about not being able to drive above 70mph and i asked him who drives at 70mph these days and obviously he couldn't answer

Could you not get them to sit in the passenger seat while you drive over 70mph

I have the same problem with wind noise from the rear window (2001 model), as did the demonstrator I took out before I bought my car, I just turn the stereo up.
