Flat Battery

I bought a second-hand CC for my wife last summer. We have been using it less during the winter and the battery keeps going flat if we leave it for even 4 or 5 days. I read one of the posts from back a few years on the site talking about battery drain and I can't work out from the comments whether parking it WITHOUT setting the alarm improves things significantly. Would disabling the flashing red led help reduce drain while on alarm do you think?

Before you go hunting, I'd change the battery. It could just be the age of the battery. I'd start there and then start looking for any drains.
