as matt says side lights do come on automatically with the fogs but the lights only show as being on on the dash display when full lights are on as with most cars.

Also noticed that about the full beam. And when I turn my front fogs on, my sidelights come on.
Matt

When you turn the fogs off do you find that there is a 2 second delay before the dash lights around the dials go off?

Can't check at the moment - dark outside & lights come on anyway!

However, I have just noticed something (the words "spanner" and "works" come to mind here...). When I start the car, the headlights come on automatically. I then turn the engine off, headlights stay on as they should. BUT if I then briefly flash the full beam, all the lights go off, and the headlights don't stay on for the customery minute!!

Hi again :(

No it is a bug.

And no Derek I am not naive, but thx for lowering the tone to name calling :( .

Alex do you really think Peugeot PR machine are going to admit to there being faults on the car except for the safety recalls????

At the end of the day this my opinion, which I am entitled to, people who read what I think, have there own right to make their own conclusions.

Regrdless of what label you want to give it, this is how the car works now. So I dont really see much point in posting anything more on the matter.

From the rather stroppy tone here, i can tell you sincerely believe this to be a cock up, and given peugeot's track record who can blame you? But would regret to inform that my source at coventry says it is intended, and my mate at the dealership reckons it is a software update, is not the only thing that changed, this kind of thing happens all the time, and that he was told all about it by another salesman it was gonna be happening before it was released - finally settling the fact, since if it was a bug why would head office notify the dealers in advance?

Also, i think that it should be obvious considering the fact that lots of new cars are adding this (punto, new micra, etc) that it is just modernisation!

By the way, i have had it confirmed that a bug in the systemn WAS responsible for the following:

1. The addition of a 3rd pedal to a car that was always supposed to be an automatic - peugeot only relaesed the manual version because they had lots of 3 pedalled automatic cc's
2. The machines on the production line mistook my glove box for a steering wheel and rammed a second airbag in it
3. Ditto side airbags
4. Peugeot had intended to employ solely human staff, but an unfortunate glitch in the HR dept sent all the job adverts to a local zoo rather than to the local paper. Even then they only gave the jobs to the monkeys since the snakes and dolphins experienced difficulty in handling the necessary tools, and were unable to scratch their heads in a manner which convinced the customer that they were thinking as hard as they could

Dear Sir,
I wish to thank-you personally for bringing to my attention a fact that we here in Peugeots upper management have suspected for some time. I am not referring to the fact that we employ monkeys for the reasons stated above, I am actually referring to the fact we quite obviously have a spy in our midst. The above information regarding company policy is in fact classified "Super Secret" and as such was never intended to be released to the public. I am henceforth conducting an internal investigation to discover who our mole is in Coventry.
Your statement above is fairly accurate although I wish to correct you on one point. We do actually employ snakes in our company. We call them "Salesmen" and you will find a few at all our dealerships.

Yours Faithfully

name calling ??? since when was naive considered to be name calling ?

although replying to someones post with "yawn" could be taken as disrespectful !

i could say i didn't mean to say you were naive but it wouldn't be true so there is no point. if you want to believe that your dealer is correct and others aren't then that is entirely up to you but i don't really have time to be involved in petty arguements so i will leave it at that.

Hi again

Ok here go's......

Im not sure when I became public enemy number one on here.

Reading back through my posts on this thread, I have probably been a little bit over opinionated, but as Mr_Awol picked up I have had so many problems with my CC I was totally convinced and truly believed this was a bug and beleived Pug/Pug Dealers where spinning another lie to the general public .

If at any stage I have offended anyone, which I dont think I have and have just argued my point, then I apologise.

If you want me accept I am wrong now, then I will do so, but at the time of posting I still did not believed anyone gave a good enough reason for me to think otherwise (MR_Awol has changed my opinion).

Funny thing is I spoke to my dealer about it, and they have stated now that the 30 sec delay is not a bug but the option to change it is missing and should be there.

They also told me if I press the big red button on the dash 5 times really fast, wings will spout from the side of the car and I will be able to fly....I will let you all know how I get on......

Ok so there it is, hopefully I can now relinquish my "enemy number 1" title to someone else.

Oh and guess what, my car is back at the dealer again for another week to fix more problems (6months old and approx 6 weeks at the dealers so far)...never mind

Regards

Just one more posting regarding these lights which stay on for 30 secs - I believe that it is an intended feature i.e. as a courtesy light for when you're walking to your front door as commonplace with other cars.

The reason that I say this is that when I lock the car and the lights remain on for 30 secs , it is only the front headlights that are lit, not the rear lights....... :)

Yep I noticed the same thing - but what happens if you reverse onto your driveway? Maybe there's a "bug" that turns the reverse lights on for 30 seconds after locking the car ;)
