I agree with webcode, the dealer is a lazy lying sh1te who needs his 4rse kicking.
So you lock the car with the button on the plip key. It is now not possible to open the car with the other key (or even with the plip key if you try and turn the key in the lock), without setting the alarm off and quite possibly immobilising the car.
Got another main dealer near you?
