Car now booked in to a reluctant peugeot on 18th to look at brakes & boot rattle :)

I heard the squeaking is a common occurence in most new cars ever since the prohibition of using asbestos in brake pads....apparently the alternative substance used is just not as good and hence the inferior quality...but then i'm not technical minded and this may be nonsense?
Perhaps you're not technical minded Greg S, but you're d@mn right!
I wonder now that our brake pad variety is small, what could be our best choice next time, Ferodo :?: EBC :?: or what :?: :scratch:
