Hi, I'm just about to replace the front discs and pads. Is there a permanent fix for the 206's squeaky brakes? If not, I may consider replacing them with grooved discs in an attempt to solve this problem.

I posted this question in one of the sticky's above but nobody seems to read those. :(

I heard from the horses mouth it was a pad problem. 50/50 as to whether you get squeaky pads or not, so i would go with aftermarket if you are having problems.

Unfortunately, 50/50 is not a chance I'm willing to take. I need new discs and pads anyway, so want to cure this problem for good.

Will standard aftermarket discs and pads have the same problem, or should I upgrade to grooved discs and high performance pads?

Is it just a problem with Peugeot supplied pads? Will Mintex/EBC pads cure it?

I don't particularly want to pay the 'bling tax' that grooved discs attract and the performance increases they provide is not really necessary but if it's the only cure, then I'll get them.
