My windows wont go up after having roof down :(

I admit to only having had the car a month or so and therefore could be me doing it wrong but I thought you have your windows down and then put the roof up, after the beep you fasten the catches then put the windows up. Well mine just wont work, I tried about 100 times last night, so much so that every now and again the roof just beeped when I tried to get it back down but after turning of the engine and waiting a few mins it woudl work again, but still not to the point of me being able to put the windows up. As a result my poor car had to sit outside last night wither her windows down, and not only that but as her alarm kept going of (I assume cos windows were down) I also had to unlock her. Am taking her back to garage today to see if they will fix her but wondering if anyone can tell me if I am doing it right.

Also does anyone have a 51plate 2litre SE that can message me please as I was told mine is a se from the garage and yet on the v5 it doesnt state that it is, so not sure now if it is. I havent got a trip computer and cant get automatic windscreen wipers to work.

206cc? The windows don't come up automatically when putting the roof up, they only drop automatically to let the roof down. Or do you mean that the windows won't come up even when using the window switch?

The order is - roof up, fasten catches, windows up using window switch.

Oops sorry guys, Yeah thats what I do. From the beginning lol:P I have windows down. Using roof switch I put roof up, after the beep I then fasten the catches (I even try fastening them together, seperately, drivers side forst, passenger side forst) then after catches have been fastened I then use the window switch to try and put the windows up but hey ho I just get the darned annoying beep. Somehow I managed to get the windows up after just leaving them down for ages and kept trying and trying. I didnt take her to the garage as they are miles away from me and I am a lil busy at the min but was wondering if anyone knew why this was happening and whether it could just be one of the lil microchips bent out of place? I hope to get her to the garage before the4 sun comes back

Just been battling with the same problem, and finally solved it.... Turned out to be the little switches located at the top of the pillars, just behind the small bar which the roof catches grab onto. The one on the driver's side was a bit creaky and stiff and can't have been working properly, so the car didn't recognise that the roof was fully shut and the catches were in place so wouldn't allow the windows to go back up.

So, to cut a long story short (including nearly buggering up the roof and having to put it back up manually - it's been educational!) All it took was to fiddle about and free up those little switches... I also sprayed some silicon lubricant on them to help with releasing them.

Worth remembering you should get a beep when you release the catches, if you don't and your windows don't go up then it's probably the same thing.

i had exactley the same problem.....

im gona go fix it now, will get back to you about the results
