Hi all,
New to the forum and looking quite deprately for some help!
As you've probably had this sort of enquiry before, i'll keep this as brief as possible. We've been seriously looking at a 206cc Quicksilver model which appears to be a nice solid car, however, like most potential buyers, bad press has really put us off and as we've had to work like crazy to afford a new car, don't really fancy having to fork out money we don't have on repairing one once we've bought it.
The car itself seems pretty sound and from what i've read, a lot of the roof problems were ironed out. The car is an `04 plate and seems to be in good nick but saying that when we were down at the showroom, the rear drivers side window failed to "go up" fully when I was testing the roof, there was about a 1inch gap between the main drivers window and the roof - is this indicative of a potential roof problem and how can I be sure of it's integrity - like I said we've worked hard to get a new car and i'd hate a massive bill to repair something that I could have spotted before purchase. had the problem been ironed out by 2004 models?
The only other thing that seems to be wrong with the car is that just above the back seats on the "plastic" bit there's a bit of a scratch - is this a part which could easily be replaced?
If anyone has time, is there a bit of a checklist I could perform on it before buying to make sure i'm not letting myself in for a big let down.
Really admire what you guys are doing here, gives hope to us that aren't as clued up about cars and provides an awesome place for us to learn. Whether I buy a CC or not, reading the posts on here has allowed me to make a much more informed decision - saying that, still need to be sure on the roof!!!
Thanks in advance for you help,
Matt:thumbs:

I have to agree with David. Don't buy a car with problems. There will be plenty of near perfect ones about. Best time to buy will be autumn/winter. Prices will be approaching their highest at this time of year.
