Hi all CC owners

I have had a 206CC quicksilver (1.6) for 2 years which I purchased new from Motorprovider (Sheffield). Which I later found out was an import with full UK spec. (hence only 2 year manufactures warranty). I have had the roof seals replaced 3 times and Peugeot UK agreed to extend the warranty for this problem for another 12 months. However 4 weeks ago I put the car in for its first major service and since then have had a number of faults flashing up such as

engine coolant temp too high (Stop light comes on and temperature dial reaches max then drops back to normal immediately).

Catalyic convertor fault

Anti pollution fault

The car seems to run like a bag of hammers at times, then suddenly its fine for a while before the faults start flashing again. All seems to have started since the service??? Its going in on Friday to be checked out which the garage have agreed to repair if service related! However I will have to foot the bill if its not!!!! Has any other owners experienced the problems I have been witnessing and if so are they easily repaired?

Would really appreciate some feedback

Thanks

Kenny Elliott

hello. yep ive had this before. :) i suspect your air con is also inopo and your cooling fan is running at high speed.
the problem is more than definate a cooling temp sensor, its not a service item nor is it checked on a service.
only link is if they changed the coolant or done the anti freeze, and havent bled the cooling system correctly.
other than that you prob got pay for it unless you have some form of warranty?
same fault will occur if the coolant low? go check ,see if its topped up. :)

Well, I took my car into garage today and they said I may have a faulty sensor which is causing the various alarms to pop up. Unfortunately for me the dealer where I got it serviced was a Nissan dealer (50 quid cheaper than Peugeot) and claim they dont have the diagnostic equipment to check Peugeot's. Called the local Peugeot dealer who quoted me 50 quid + VAT to have it checked out. Is this worth doing as the car is running fine now and faults pop up intermittingly albeit v annoying!! Can anyone advise on costs incurred to replace such sensors?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. Do you think The engine coolant sensor may be connected to the anti pollution and cat convertor fault? I have contacted Peugeot UK and explained my motor is only 1 month out of warranty. A customer services manager is going to call me back in a couple of days to let me know if they can offer support. On a brighter note I would also like to thank Mark Bignall from motorprovider.co.uk (place i purchased car from) for offering to check over the car at a trade rate of 10 quid an hour instead of 40 quid an hour. Let you know how I get on.

the coolant temp sensor you can get from pug and is more than probably causing the anti poll fault
whats the car saying about the cat? it prob cause the coolant sensor faulty ,and the engine ecu over injecting by going off the duff info from the sensor.lambda sensor reconizing that the car running to rich so has put (not enough oxygen)so lamba sensor going out of range .you prob find once you fitted a new coolant sensor and the faults are cleared all will good again :)

Expecting call from pug UK tomorrow to see if they can support if not Ill have to sort myself. Just got pug mag thru door today with 207cc preview wow its a topper!! But would I buy another pug again? after all the probs ive had with leaking roof (seals done 3 times) and now the electronics!! I'll have to have a very serious think!!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site and found it because my precious 206cc has started to mis-behave!

Funnily enough my sister also has a 206cc and within a week of eachother they have both gone and the dreaded 'Anti pollution fault' and diagnostic light has come on.

To start from the beginning I was driving along happily (I was in a hurry too, as you always are when your car decides to die on you, oh and its blowin a gale outside and chucking it down I might add!) Anyway, I was driving along and a bout to over take when during the overtaking the car just lost all power and went from 70mph to 20mph and no matter how much I accelerated it just would not go. Weirdly enough this is exactly how my sister's car went too!

I have read on this sight it could be a couple of things and the ones that keep popping up the most ar the Lambda sensors and hydraulic tappets.

I wonder if someone could help, does anyone know for definate if this is what is is because most Pegeuot garages are useless and I'm sure when I walk in I see ££ signs in their eyes!

Thanks

Lauren

Well guys, I eventually got that call from PUG UK who virtually told me in a nut shell they were not going to help as my car is an import and they made no money whatsoever from the sale. They did stress they have already extended my warranty for another year for the roof seals!! which was, I suppose kind of them but anything else they will not entertain me! So what do I do now? take it to pug dealer for engine diagnostic check? pay the 60 quid and find out nothing I dont know already?? or just purchase the engine coolant temp sensor from PUG and fit it myself? Thing is I will ask the same Q as lauren, does anyone know where this sensor is and how to fit it? Feedback would be very much appreciated.

Thanx again and again!!

HI - any ideas appreciated.

I have a 206 1.1 03 on plate. I got Engine Managment Light on dashboard - got it checked thru diagnostic tools through one of garages - faults ; injector 2, idle stepper moter - changed both, faults reappear as well as temp sensor. changed temp sensor. faults reappear few days later but now when driving, air bags lights come up for a fraction of sec, rev and speedo go to 0 and back to normal again. car also revs very high for few minutes. Switch it off and restart and it seems to ok and fault reappears few minutes later.

Totally at a loss - idea's appreciated
