When buying…

Hi All,

Put a deposit down on a 206cc today, 2.0 SE in Moonstone Blue.

I have to tie up a few things such as finance, see what they are going to part ex my current car for etc but hopefully all should go ok - nearly there!

Just wondering if I need to get the AA or someone out to check it before buying it?

If not what can I do to ensure everything is fine and as it should be?

I haven’t got a clue so for example, if its passed its service and seems fine - it could be close to needing something (for example I don’t know) brake pads and although they passed the service and will last a while they might be close to needing replacing or need replacing just after the year warranty…

I got my current car from Ford and they did this with regards to my service, it wasn’t serviced before being sold to me but they said it was - anyway ended up being a serious issue and I was given 3 years extended warranty but would rather avoid this…

Thanks in advance.

Shelley

Hi Shelley,

See my responses in capitals.

NICE COLOUR - SAME AS OURS BUT WE HAVE THE 1.6 ALLURE. WE DECIDED THE 2.0 WOULD BE TOO THIRSTY.

I HOPE YOUR DEPOSIT IS REFUNDABLE IF THEY DON'T COME UP WITH THE DEAL YOU WANT, AND THE FINANCE DOESN'T WORK OUT.

ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA IF YOU KNOW LITTLE ABOUT CARS YOURSELF, BUT YOU DON'T TELL US WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM. HOPEFULLY A REPUTABLE DEALER.

If not what can I do to ensure everything is fine and as it should be?
IF BUYING FROM A DEALER YOU HAVE STATUTORY RIGHTS AND, PRESUMABLY A YEAR'S WARRANTY (READING BELOW).

SO GET AN AA OR RAC INSPECTION - THAT'LL TELL YOU. MONEY WELL SPENT!

I PRESUME YOU DIDN'T GET AN AA/RAC INSPECTION WHEN YOU BOUGHT YOUR KA.

CHECK THAT THE AIRCON IS WORKING PROPERLY !!!!!!

ALL THE BEST,
