Hi,

I have had my car from Jam Jar for 4 weeks and it has been to the dealer 7 times for various things (leackie roof and rattles from the passenger windows). Window problem not fixed as yet - went in today and still faulty.

I have read a post on here about rattles from the windows and the car was rejected.

Any ideals on how I go about thsi if the dealer is unable to fix the next time?

Thanks for your time - Jason

What did they say the rattle was? I have the same problem and it too has been returned to the dealer and they have not fixed it.
I have had my car about four weeks too, could it be a faulty batch?

MMM - I wonder!!

The rattle is on the passenger side. About half way down the top of the windows it was shaking a making a large amount of noise against the seals. It sound like it may fall out sometimes. The have adjusted the door (so it looks really bad from the outside) and moved the realignment of the window.

All no good - will be going back tomoz and asking what they intend to do.

Hows your window and what do u think it is?

there should be no problem rejecting it.

your contract is with Jam Jar regardless of it being an import or not. You bought it in this country so this country's laws apply.

QUICKLY put it in writing that you wish to reject the car. Your local Trading Standards Office will be able to help you and they may even have a rejection letter template. If not look under the following topin in the DISCUSSIONS section:-

USEFUL WEB PAGES - LEGAL INFO ETC

This has a link to the Burton-upon-Trent trading standards web page and they do have a letter template on there. They helped me in my rejection case which I won.

Good Luck.

REJECT IT ASAP>

Have a look if you can at last May's 'What Car?'. There is a Help Line article about Jam Jar / Direct Line and their understanding of the Sale of Goods Act! (Yes, that is us!!).

They are replacing our car, write to them and insist yours is replaced. Import or not, the contract sale is still with Jam Jar and it is their responsibility to supply a vehicle that complies with the requirements of the sale of goods act. If you want copies of my letters, let me know. Good luck.

Incidentaly, did you intend to buy an import?
