Hi,
Never posted on this site before but could really do with some friendly advice. I know this has been a topic for discussion before but some of the threads are a few years old now and I think any owners / potential buyers should be updated on this.
I bought a 206cc in Agean Blue last February and for the first five months I had it had great fun with it - it really was a great car. Now nearly a year down the line it's been in the garage ten times (for up to a week each time) mainly with a catalytic converter / antipollution warning on the display.
When its driving the car suddenly starts to judder violently and sometimes cuts out altogether. I've struggled to drive the car in 4th or 5th gear and have had to be towed by the RAC 3 times now. The garage are scratching their heads and claiming they've never seen this problem before (obviously never seen this site then!). They've replaced coils, done computer downloads and are now replacing the wiring harness. All totally over my head but in the meantime I'm nearly up to a month in the past year without my car (and only given a courtesy car for a week of this!)
It's also had a full gear box replacement and whatever the garage have been tampering with its now a very noisy car which constantly over revs and feels like a double decker bus to drive - not the nippy wee car I had in the beginning.
Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. I've got trading standards on to it but am having problems since I got the car at one dealership and have had the attempted repairs done at another. I'm at the stage that if I could afford to I'd trade the car and get something different altogether but that's just not an option.
Any advice for a currently carless wonder?
Dream turned into a nightmare!
