boot lid

HELP please,

My lovely wife closed the boot lid and key is not responding when we tried opening boot again. NOTHING.Very,luse,flopy lock,,,,,,but shut good.
Service man didn't laugh but he scrached his head and anounced that the only way in is to cut a squere behind number plate.Of couse roof can't be rised as roled sheath in boot is roled so micro swiches are not activated.And sumer in NZ is coming.....Please tell me I'm not the only one,,,

had a look at that but it is solid steel,and also there are hidraulics behind.Thanks,lucky there is no frosen grocerys in there,,,,ha,ha,ha,,,,,

I would probably opt to drill the lock out rather than chop a dirty great big hole in the boot lid, even if it is behind the number plate.

Hi,
got tired of wating on Pug France on advice so there is a little hole(4" squere)behind back seat and I put a wire through there on to the microswitch and presto but sezamy opened up so I could get stuff out.Had a clear viw of lock and there is nothing missing or brocken but a lot of wires so it is an electronic folt.I'm about to send email to our friendly factory and see what hapened to there advice.??????

Hallo again,
as our friendly UK and frog makers keep reasuring me that they will get in touch soon,I have taken the car to dealer.Good news is now they can get in when roof up,lock can be fixed. Parts$700+ labour,,say a grand.
The other way is to leave it unlocked.Can't use the key,yust push the barrel to open it.DONE.With some roof adjustements,
wash,vacum and checks $225.I could never have it unlocked before.Main thing is that darling is happy.

Hay I forgot to say that VW converteble looks good.I wonder if they come in disel?
