Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is well :D

New to this sight but need some info..............

Last year i basically started up the car and it sounded like a loud backfire...... Got out and the inlet manifold was in bits....

Got it replaced but the garage that I took it to had told me that the peugot dealer had said that there had been a recall on the specific part. My car was never recalled for this so when i approached them, they basically got all arsy bout it and said that there had been 1 recall done on my car and it had been rectified. Got it fixed out of my own pocket, end of!

Anyhoo, last night started the car up again and same loud bang happened. Its at another garage and it turns out its the same thing! My car has only done 15,000 since the new one had been fitted.

has anyone else had this problem??? Would love to hear from you guys with any advice. Would be mucho appreciated.

Thanks lovelies
Leigh

Hello Leigh,
Nice to have you with us.
Sorry to learn of your problems.
Our experienced moderator Reap says that the exploding manifolds are caused by aggressive mapping of the ecu. I suggest you take a look at the following thread which covers the issue.

Thanks for your reply! totally help me out, onpassed the info to the garage!!!!!

Read through your response and supposedly the garage who repaired the inlet maifold replaced it with the new and improved model as the garage did say that it had been modified??

My car has been out of action for over a week now due to peugeot mucking bout with parts. The part was ordered last tuesday and it was only delivered today to the garage! MMMMMMMMMMMMM!

let you know how I get on! Gonna right to peugeot!

cheers again
