Hi team,
I am about to buy a 2ltr 02 plate ( first reg march 2002) 206cc.. its got 37000 on the clock and the service history says its been serviced at 10k, 20k, and 30k miles.
A couple of questions to help me get on the way...

# I am getting confusing info from various Peugeot main dealers about the service interval,,, some say the car only needs a service every 20k, while others say it requires a service every 10k? Any independant thoughts please?

# Its going to need a service at 40k,,, now I have had a quote from one main dealer at £190 to cover the 40k service schedule whilst another has said that I can go for either a £190 service or a £390 variant. Are there usually two levels of service offered by Peugeot for the 40k?

# I may get the service done by a non-franciase dealer but to maintain the warranty it will have to be to the recommended Peugeot service schedule. Apart from the service book, is there a website where I can download exactly what Peugeot recommends for the 40k service... ie i would like a copy of the 40k service schedule.

regards

The official service interval is 20,000 miles. The service book indicates an optional interim service which consists of fluid level checks predominanatly. There should only be one level of service - the one the manufacturer recommends which from memory was around £143 when I had mine done (so the cheaper of your two), if I was you I would request a copy of the list of the checks and changes each garage would perform to justify the cost difference - although it does seem excessively different. Have they offered to Supagard it on the more epensive option? That normally costs around 200 quid.

many thanks for your prompt reply,, most appreciated:thumbs:

I have been to yet another dealer and they too were staggered at the £390 and said that they would be around the £190 mark (which would include brake fluid change). They advised that
the 20k service is classed as a "A" service (check levels etc and change oil , filter)
the 30k as an "intermediate" service ( just a check and top-up)
the 40k service is a "A" service ( a full check, replace type)
and on it goes.
They also gave me a copy of the service schedules they adhere too.

I understand a bit better now,, and they just won a new customer as well.

:love-thx:

know em well Lyndon,, used to take our yaris to Ron Brooks toyota , opposite Dixons on Oak Tree lane.
we lived (up to two years ago) in on the new estate in Kings Clistone ( me and the mrs originate from notts).

In fact last year it was cheaper to take the yaris to Brooks mansfied for a servive, and stay at friends  than use the now local toyota dealer.

ta-ra me duck .
