Display Screen-help needed.

A third of my upper multi-display screen has gone dark,is the screen dying,can it be caused by direct heat(it's hot here)can it be easily fixed or is it easy to fit a new display?

Ok many thanks REAP,so there's just bulbs lighting it up?I thought it may be a digital screen.
How do you get behind it it to change the bulb?
