Ohhhhh Nnnooo - it had to happen - my first problem
Driving along and heard a loud bang (like a stone had hit underneath the wheel arch). Didn't think much of it until we put the roof up, all the windows went up apart from the driver's side rear, managed to pull it up by hand but it isn't flush with the top. Think the bang must have been the electric motor falling off???? - any ideas?
Going to the Dealers on Tuesday.
My England flag is currently stuffed in the gap trying to keep the rain out!!!!
Hi Nik Nik,
Exactly the same happened to mine two hours after picking it up!!!
The window had to be repositioned and placed back on the runners that move it up and down.
Check closely that when they have done it the window butts back up closely to the front window as when I got mine back they had not even bothered to check this and it had to go back again!!!
Thanks Stephen, which dealer do you go to? I see that you're in Nottingham. My car is booked in at Beeston tomorrow - but any recommendations would be great.
I use Godfrey Davis on Masfield Road. They were a bit crap to start with but after a rather threatening letter they could not be better now!!!!
If you need to use them in the future ask to speak to "big John" (Yes really!!! and he is big!!) or Mike in the service department and say that I have put you in touch with them - they might get the red carpet out if you mention "Stephen Rose"!!!!!
If you need any further help or advice just get in touch.
Let me know how it goes with your window and the quality of service at Beeston.
Car went in today, the problem is with the window regulator, they have had to order a new one (couldn't tell me when it would arrive though!!), so still a gap in the window!.
Also they have ordered a new white cord pull for the manual roof operation as this too apparently was broken? I knew the white bung was on the floor but thought it just needed pushing back on.
Just a note for import buyers - mine is in an import (I didn't tell the garage this beforehand) but when I went to collect it they said that they wouldn't be able to carry out the warranty work until they received a copy of the original invoice between the Peugeot Dealer abroad and the car garage that I purchased it from, as the Warranty runs from the date of that sale and not the date of registration. Luckily my garage (Available Car - advertising for them again!!!) did this immediately but I am trying to clarify with Peugeot Head Office as to exactly when the Warranty should run from.
Gold Star AlexLS, you're right!!!! - Just had confirmation from Peugeot that the Warranty starts from when the franchise dealer sells it - so watch out if anyone buys an import that a garage has had for a couple of months as you will be losing out on the Warranty. Doesn't matter if it has been registered or not.
that reminds me of something i saw in a newspaper recently.
some old woman bought a fiat punto from an independent garage as a new car although imported - then the engine blew up and she found out that the warranty had ran out before they even bought it.
derek
silly old trout
