Hi,

Good cruising day again ;) :D

Can anyone tell me how much their 1.6 206cc cost to have it's first service please - I know prices will vary accross the country but all input gratefully received!

I need to have pre-warning if it's as horendous as I think it's gonna be & only the sales dept of pug was open today so they didn't know.

Many thanks

I think mine was about £143 from memory as it is just a "service A" although saying that when I had my 60000 which is the same thing it was only £90.

I've found the dealers around where I live can be very differently priced, one time, there was over £100 difference on the 40k service

mmm... called my local dealer today & he said 20k miles or 2 years?

I could have an interim 1 yr service where I pay for 1/2 hour labour but that's optional - don't know what ypu were all charged for :?

£0 is the perfect price for me!!! ;) :D

The interim 1 year check is just "has it got oil in....yes" "has it got washer fluid in.....yes" "has it got coolant.....yes" and not really worth having (unless you never check them yourself). Its the 20000 or 2 year service that is worth going for as it is the one that counts towards the warranty.

Danielle, You got your new car last July and I assume that you have taken it in for its first checkover service - the one after 6 months / 6000 miles - and got the service record stamped by the dealer.

If so your warranty is safeguarded and the next essential service is at 2 years old or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first.

However, old fuddy duddy that I am, I believe that 20,000 miles is too far to go without an oil and filter change. I always change the oil on my cars at least once a year, and no more than 10,000 miles between changes.

Nevertheless DPH is correct in what he says.

Which dealership do you use incidentally?

I bought my car from sunwin in ilkeston - they never booked me in for my 6 mnth check up - luckily my car's only done 8k. I get all my work done at willoughby in beeston though - much better service.

My car isnt booked in for a service yet either & Ive had mine a 13 months! I was told also that it wouldnt need one until 2 years or 20000 miles.......Im thinking of getting a "basic" service done before then tho...do I have to go to the dealers? Its just that I can get parts cheap. :)

If you had the car new and you want to ensure that the warranty isn't invalidated then you really should have that 1st 6months/ 6000 mile service, and to be on the safe side, at the Peugeot dealer too. Make sure they stamp the service record too to confirm that it has been carried out. I wouldn't really expect the dealer to tell you when it is due either, except of course when you take delivery of the car. It is up to the owner to read the handbook and book it in themself. How is the dealer going to know when all the new cars they sell have done 6000 miles if it comes sooner than 6 months? I know the dealers take some stick but as owners we have responsibilities too.

Just like to say that our dealer, Blacklers in Torquay, phoned us after a few weeks to check everything was alright and then again at 5 months to remind us to book the service as it was important for the warranty.
They also sell an awful lot of 206ccs.... can't think why........maybe it is something to do with the way they treat their customers.....

Now THAT IS BRILLIANT SERVICE!

Why can't they ALL be like that???

They deserve all the business they get.
