24 days ago, I bought a 2003 Peugeot 206 GLX with 22k on the clock from Waters of Hertford. Since then, it has spent 12 days off the road with a variety of problems: stalling, poor acceleration, flat spot juddering, engine diagnostic warning light staying on. After two unsuccessful attempts by the garage to fix things (ECU software upgrade, speed control sensor replaced), I have asked for my money back. This was just as unsuccessful - “We NEVER give refundsâ€

Thanks for the suggestions. The dealer has given me a week to choose another car or continue having it repaired until the warranty runs out, but the law says I don't have to accept either. The dealer knows that I may run to a solicitor and he may get a nasty letter but that I am unlikely to take it further with the time and costs involved. Trading Standards will not intervene in a civil dispute - they just offer advice and standard letters etc
Fortunately, the editor of the local newspaper has just contacted me about it and wants to publicise my plight! If I can keep some control over what is written, this could be interesting. Also, I have discovered a dealer complaints department at Peugeot.

I agree with DPH but do use your rights to reject the car quickly. The longer you delay in rejecting it the harder it will be. "They never give refunds?" !!!!! Check out the links below,
