wot cat d mean

hi i was gonna buy a 03 reg 206cc 2 swap ma other 1 and it said it had cat d i think thats somethin wrong with it can u tell me wot it is if any 1 knows!!

Vehicles written off get catergorised into levels of damage/theft etc... Cat D being the least suffered. They can be written off, repaired, re-certified and put back out on the road by anybody.

Basically you will get a super cheap price, but something has happened to that car in the past. It's a big gamble.

I know a few people who have Cat D cars, the only trouble you might have is when you come to sell it in future... hope this helps

no, that's a bit too steep for a cat d! i'd say more like swap with about 3k?

to compare i swapped a 52 reg hatch plus Â£6k for an 05 plate with 6k on the clock...

Remember you may have trouble selling it on.

A dealer taking it as a trade-in would likely send it to auction so you would be offered a very low price.

I would only go for it if you were absolutely desperate for the car but couldnt afford a normal one.

Sorry, your English is very difficult to understand. Is it Â£5,500 all in, or Â£5,500 plus your 51 reg? The former is a more realistic price for a Cat D car.

If it's Â£5500 plus old car then you could probably buy a brand new import 2.0SE for similar money.
