was lyng in bed last night thinking about my cc and how I just don't seem to like it as much as my last car...i love driving with the roof down and I love the car itself...but for some reason I'm not as 'in love' with it was I was my last car
which got me to thinking - if there was one thing I think I'd like to change about it, what would it be (aside from the obvious like having twice as many horses)...
when I was looking for a china blue cc I only wanted black leather but settled for lama as it was all I could find. I'm now wondering whether I should have held out for black or wether I should see about getting hold of black leather. It just seems a bit feminine with grey leather (and yes it's a femine car to start with!)..wondering if black would make me happier
anyone wanna swap black for lama lol?
there's only one set for sale on ebay, black and red, for £999 buy it now hehe
the lama's ok...hard work to keep it clean! I think overall I should have gone with a different car instead of another 206...should have got a slightly older higher mileage slk or something
or perhaps i'm just siffering from wanting to mod and not havign the money!
I would not swap the CC for an old style SLK, only the newer model which will be out of your budget.
Also don't expect every car to be better than your last. I still view my CC as being the favourite car I have had even although nothing went right with it. Prior to that I had a new 106, 106, 106, 306, 206 within 7 years but the CC was the first car that I had owned that felt special mainly due to the value.
Even although I prefer the 350ZR over the CC any day of the week, I still regard the CC as special. You probably find that with your last car as you did a lot to it, it looked good and you looked after it.
Alternatively swap your interior for the more masculine black

yeh the odler stayle slk is what put me off buying one and convinced me to get the cc
I think the specialness is because I'd spent hundreds of hours over 2 years on my last can and every part of it was mine..I'd modded everything and done almost all of it myself...
I'd love a black interior on the cc, would probably make me view it in a whole new light...just gotta find one and somehow pay for it!
There was a point where I was bored with the CC but I get like that pretty quickly with all cars. I considered spending a few K on the CC with a respray and new interior which would have made me keep it for another 2yrs.
In the end I sold it because I couldn't afford to keep it - i.e. £3k for a new engine and there was more than that needed to get it right. I still had it for 2yrs 8 months which was the longest I ever kept a car for. Previous best was 2yrs 2 months on a 306 but only because I was saving to buy a house as well.
Now the 350ZR and possibly the MG ZR will be even longer but only because my mortgage doubled when I moved house last August and I also have other personal priorities as well now which leaves less money for cars.
Get your new interior and you will love your CC again

still not sure an interior will sort it, I'm finding it underpowered too..a ride in my mates saxo vts made mine feel rubbish, so heaven forbid I should take a ride in my mate's new s2000!

The new SLK was available for order during the summer of 2004 if not a little earlier as at that time the waiting list was supposedly 18 months.
I remember going into the dealer in Edinburgh to get a brochure. They didn't have any so the stuck up sales guy took my details. I was put off there and then with their attitude as they seemed to think a merc garage was so posh :rolleyes:

I love both our cars, but I have never found much of a difference between the Saxo VTS and the CC Performance wise. I would actually advise anyone owning a VTS who wants open top motoring to try a CC. The Peugeots interior is leagues ahead of the Saxo, but then the Saxo isn’t so much about show and more about go. That said I would have to dig deep to say which car gave more driver fun. The Saxo is more correctable mid corners. In gear performance of the CC is substantially better due to more torque. I also prefer the gearbox in the CC as I find it quicker and less notchy than the saxo. Although you could argue that the saxo's gearbox feels more precise (it all depends on your technique in changing gear I guess). Brakes feel the same. Grip is slightly better in the Saxo, but I think that is thanks to the Michelin Pilots. I hope to get a set on the CC when the tyres next need changing.
