Gears are particularly hard to change, very stiff this problem has escalated recently,

Especially in cold morning, where i have to physically jam it into gear?
Anyone know any sort of lubricant or possible problems this may be indicating?

I had a problem too, it was a bit of hassle getting it into reverse sometimes, take heed-gearbox has just gone. car is 5 months beyond 3 year warranty. Get it checked out if it is still under warranty. Am really gutted.

Mine will not drop into 4th from 5th, it just won't go - this is really really really annoying when I just want to quickly accelerate past something but am going too fast for 3rd. The garage I bought it from says there's nothing wrong with it and that's just how they are but it's noisy and clunky to change gear and I feel a bit embarrassed about it if I have a passenger. I have to put it into 3rd anyway but then it screams at me. Arrghh!

If you cant change into a gear from another then thats not right. It may be a poor gearbox but it has to change gear... take it back.
