Hi,
ive spent the last 30 mins or so using the search function to see if i can find out some info that i need. Basically my mates dad has got a car breakers and he has had a delivery of a few cars direct from an insurance company. As i get quite a few cars from him each year to play with and have fun he always gives me a good price and first dabs on them. He has a Y reg 206cc in that has suffered water damage, the engine is fine, it drives and all the electrics work, well almost all! the problems i have is that one of the front windows has an intermittant problem, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. the hood also has this problem, now ive not bought it just incase it would require major surgery and lots of money to replace motors, wiring looms etc.. so i was wondering are there any common problems that would make this happen? as ive not had any experience with 206cc's i have no knowledge whatsoever, do the windows need to be down to take the roof back? if so this is going to be a problem! lol, any suggestions as to what to look for? the car is a cat D not C and the interior is good just needs a good clean. what do you think i should be paying for it? hes given me a price but wondered what you guys thought it would be worth as i dont want to be buying a 'white elephant!' all comments would be grately appreciated, thanks
HI Newbie with some questions (be nice!)

Not aware of anything common that would cause this. Occasionally the windows on mine take a few pushes of the switch to decide to go up or down but never let me down totally. As for the boot lid - check the connections on the switches that are activated when you pull the cover over (the bit the cover hooks into has a switch in each side) if they are corroded that may cause the issue.
