Thinking of getting a 206CC but heard (and read) more bad things than good.
I would appreciate comments.

Honest answers please...........

I have a 2.0, 51 plate, its now done 54000 miles and I have had no trouble from it since a few items were done under warranty. We sell them at work too and we have never had a hood failiure, we have not seen an engine blown up or any major problems.
Find one that has been serviced correctly and has been looked after, and go for it.

Try doing a search.
You will find good and bad comments just as you would get with virtually any car.

Reading about everybody else's problems almost put me off buying a 206cc but I'm so glad I took the bull by the horns and went for it.
Had no problems with mine really - the roof wouldn't go down once but a quick trip to the dealers and it was soon sorted under warranty. Don't think it's a car I would keep out of warranty though......
Go for it! You will not regret it, especially when the sun shines and you've got the roof off. Still maked me smile after 18 months

Life's too short to drive around with your roof up.

Bought mine new July 05 from UK dealership
a) squeaking windows after rain.
b) tracking dangerously out since new.
c) the CD changer fitted in glovebox with sticky pads damaged my cd's
d) beware alarm goes off when you lock the car with the roof down - only problem for new cars - peugeot looking for a fix - but still selling the cars with a known fault.
e) usual complaints re: dealers/peugeot dealership
Other than that - mmm great!!!

Spat out the power steering oil 3 times.
CV joint after 10'000 miles.
(warranty)
Exhaust a cool £1100 (30'000miles)
(still arguing)
Car at garage today as Air Con stuck on Full Blast
(£250 quoted)
The car's done 35'000miles of mainly motorway around Europe.
(Its home is Zurich, Its travelled to Birmigham x4, London, Manchester, Geneva, Zermatt, Davos, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Tuscany, Rome, Piza, Monaco, Provence, Bordeaux, Italian alps, Brennar Pass, Liechtenstein, Reims, Vatican City) Loads of roof down fun.
I bought the car because you could fit ski's on the luggage rack and still work the roof, looks great.
The Exhaust price trashed my relationship with Peugeot!!
If you buy 2nd hand check Exhaust, leaky roof e.t.c or you may get a nasty shock.
Brand new I guess they've sorted this stuff out by now!!

Joking apart though, I do wonder about it even though it does look a fun car to have.
We'll see.
Thanks for your comments, they are appreciated (the xyl is still keen)

I got the exhaust and alloys replaced under warranty - sounds good ?
No, they didn't replace the engine under warranty that would have cost £3,500 - consequently the car was sold very quickly - with the said knackered engine.
