Lyndon has answered the performance aspect. 0-62 is in 6.4 secs which is 0.5 sec slower than the Coupe due to the weight. Unfortunately being called 350Z means that only one engine is available. Normally I wouldn't have bought a car with such power but there wasn't another option. But what an engine the 3.5 V6 is. :D

I paid £26,000 plus £350 metallic paint which was list price at the time. There have been two price rises since I ordered which means it now costs £27,000 plus £375 metallic paint.

I have had the car since 31st March and did around 3300 miles and have had no problems whatsover.

The roof is fabric which isn't as good as the 206CC having a metal roof and I always said in the past that I wouldn't buy a soft top. I changed my mind as I regarded the 350ZR as a better purchase than the 307CC - absolutely no regrets.

A week past Sunday, 6 of us Scottish guys went on a pre-arranged drive/meet. It turned out to be the worst day possible with almost constant rain but it was still an excellent day in a car like that driving 301 miles on some stunning roads. Picture 6 350Z's flying down some one track roads at 60mph when you can't see what's ahead :D

Also the 350Z is such a good looking car in coupe or roadster form that although some owners have done so, there is no need to modify it to make it look better.

My 307CC plans for imported 180 model and modifying would have came in at around £22k or up to £25k for a UK model. For not much more the car I have is only a 2 seater but is factory standard yet still draws looks wherever it goes. It won't drop in value like a stone like 307CC's are doing. No insurance issues like I had with the 206CC as it's standard. No problems trying to sell on a modified car.

Talking of insurance, it's Group 19 yet I'm paying less than what I did for a modified 206CC

If you are considering getting a 350Z or ZR then you won't regret it.

I'll have mine for a long time as I have just invested in a bigger more expensive house so savings normally made towards the next new car are really non existent but it will be a car I will be happy to keep for as long as need be. The house will cost me approx an extra £4500 per year so I think my run of 9 new cars in 10.5yrs is dead :P

Thanks for that.

The thing that worries me is the size of the engine and rising cost of petrol, i mainly run around the city so i would be topping it up every other day 8) . Seriously how much petrol do you go through comapred to the 206?

Also insurance wise i bet thats a monster price, i currentely pay around £600 for my 206.

Oh and im crap at saving  but would love one all the same.

Cheers

Petrol is 24mpg which is what it's supposed to be and cost is 99.9-101.9 at the moment. In general the price is 6p higher than NUL so although it's more ex[ensive it isn't too much.

I would never compare fuel costs against the CC as I would probably need to sell the 350ZR :D In fairness it does use a lot and I would never be able to justify the cost to use it as my main car. I use it for work on average once or twice a week and any social driving after work where I don't need more than 2 seats.

Insurance is a bonus. It's Group 19, 1 group higher than the Coupe. I paid £630 for the CC as I had to go with Robbing Flux due to the modifications. I only pay £586 for the 350ZR. Thats 30yrs, full prot NCD, SP30 cnviction and 9k miles p.a.

Servicing costs are not much higer than the 206CC but intervals are 9k miles or 1 year which means you will be there more often.

Anything else you need to know, feel free to ask and I should be able to answer - Lyndon will also be happy to jump in as well :D

Once last thing on the Roadster, when driving with roof down I found on the 206CC it was very very windy with windows down but better with them up. On the 350ZR you actually get less wind with the windows down and can fly down the motorway and get to your destination with yourhair relatively intact :D Glass wind deflector is built in with a nice Z logo so there is no messing about with unsightly add ons like with the 206CC.

on a drive of about 280 miles (mostly motorway) i got 31.4mpg which roughly worked out to £42 give or take.

i would say that the motorway was fairly busy so average speed was around 80-85mph most of the time.

in town with a heavish right foot and quick get aways from the lights i got 18mpg

insurance - age 33,group 18 and pay £700 :? (must be a quiet area for derek in the wilds of scotland)
