UK 206CC with baby seat

I see from briefly reading this forum that this seems to be a well asked question but im seriously in need of help......

I would desperatley love a 206cc but i have an 8 month old about to go to the next stage forward facing car seat.........does anyone know of one of these that fits in the back as i would love to be able to use the passenger seat for dad........

I dont want to compromise my babies safety or comfort by fitting an ill fitting seat just to have the car, baby comes first but still im sure she would love to go out in the CC too.......

Please help......

have you concidered the 307cc? I know its not to everyones taste ... but I love it .... its alot better built than its counterpart.

No to be honest the 307cc really isnt my bag, the 206 is just so quirky looking, if i cant have a 206cc then i will have to look elsewhere for something different...

Hi there, I purchased a 206cc 4 weeks ago now, and I was worried about whether my existing car seat would fit in the back. I went to the dealer and decided that the seat wasn't big enough to accomodate the car seat. Luckily, my daughter is 3 now and was able to fit into a booster seat which only just fits on the back seat. I dont think it would be a good idea, but maybe you could take your car seat to the dealer and try it??

i found a listing on the Britax website for a Freeway seat, they say it can only be used in the up right position, so i spoke to britax and the woman said "oh it wont be very comfortable for the baby...." so i went back to the drawing board........a few hours more thought and a phone call to halfords made me buy said seat all ready for todays car hunting session. Tried the seat in the back and it fits and yes only upright and leg room for baby is a little limited so pull passenger seat forward hey presto sorted!! baby will be up front will me most times but i just wanted the option to carry passengers if necessary with baby in the back.....so im now the prowd owner of a new car seat ...........and a 206cc Allure....Job done!!

How about from new-born? Anyone any ideas? Was the Halfords "deal" only for your baby is a wee bit older?

New borns are a bit trickyer as the seat has to be rearward facing so that in an accident the shock is absorbed by the babys back pushing into the seat back as opposed to its little soft ribs being crushed by the straps.

This said you should be able to fit a seat into the front as long as you turn off the passenger airbag or indeed into the back as long as you dont mind not being able to see the baby

If you do have the roof down dont forget to protect baby from being burned in the sun.

Your partner could always ride in the back instead you know, I weigh 20 stone and am 6 foot 2 and I can fit in the back with the roof down!!! Its more comfortable of course to sit in the front but its an option.

Baby seats are tested by weight so always check that your babay is the right weight for the seat, I am quite suprised that an 8 month old is heavy enough to fit a forward facing seat like the freeway but if britax say its OK then its definately OK. - they are very good and very honest.

or get a 307cc, ive got 4 adults in mine no problems

, my 206cc .... 3 adults at most .. no one can sit behind me as there is no leg room.

You shouldnt have to part with your car just to become a mum! :rolleyes:

That was my wifes attitude when people told her that a Tigra was too small and had airbags in the passenger seat that would stop her carrying the baby, we just got the right baby seat for it (I used to work for Halfords) and then bullied vauxhall into deactivating the air bag and Bobs your mothers brother - sorted.

The 206 cc has been a breeze as a follow on car as it has the swith off point for the air bag and of course our child had grown a bit more and was in a freeway seat by then which fitted the front seat great and would sort of go in the back safely, but just a fiddle to get in

Once the kiddy gets into a booster seat (4 years onwards roughly) life becoms a dream as the booster moves from front to back easily and doest rock etc.

You make sure you keep your CC. when the crying and spewing gets too much you can always drop the hood, pump up the volume and cruise them off to sleep!
