Hi,
I am from Maldives Islands and I recently bought a 206CC.
Maldives has only got normal regular petrol (I guess it's just basic pertrol, not Unleaded).
Can anyone tell me if it is O.K to use this basic grade petrol? Would there be any problems if I use it? Is there any device (mechanical or any other) which I can fit so that I can use normal basic petrol?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Buy a kat replacement unit and Lamda replacement, when the gas really is leaded there'll hardly be a soul aroud that gives a shit about pollution and exhaust measurements...I think leaded petrol might kill the cat, which would be rather expensive to replace.
But the engine will run on regular unleaded and on premium unleaded without a prob.

Thanks for all the help.
Does it mean that ALL CC's will have the "cat" and "lamda" unit?? If so, any idea where it is installed in the car?? Mechanics in Maldives are pretty stone aged in these matters!! And please don't ask me why on earth I imported a CC here!!
Where can I get the "cat" replacement and Lamda replacement? Are they the same??
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks again

Whether your CC has a cat at all should become clear when you crawl underneath the car, when you see a bulge in the exhaust pipe (just behind the front wheels) and one or two "sparkplug like' things sticking out just before and after the bulge (with a wire to each) you have found the cat...Thanks for all the help.

When you are sure the petrol you buy is leaded.... cat replacement should be easily obtained. You can try companies like rüffer or french power in Germany or probably also ecosse in the UK and others should be around. Google 'cat replacement pipe' and you'll find tons of hits.
Make sure you know the engine type and production date before ordering as I at least know two exhaust systems were used for the 2.0 L CC.
As the lambda probe sometimes measures the mixture before and after the cat (as in my 2001), and the fuel injection computer is regulating the mixture on that info you sometimes need to fool the computer in letting it think that the mixture is OK ....I am not sure it is needed on a CC but that info should be around on the net or be obtained from the dealer supplying your cat replacement pipe.
at http://www.ruefferperformance.de/ under number SPAV03 you'll see a "206 Limo./CC 2,0i 16V Vorschalldämpferersatzrohr 129,- " you can find a cat replacement pipe where the lambda probe apparently stays in place, an email might clear all up for you
