Squeaky wheels

Have had my peugot 206 since Oct 2004...my first ever and just love it.

It's a glx model and has some fab alloy wheels. Just lately, an annoying squeak has developed..and its driving me mad! :x

It doesn't happen when breaking, it happens when on the move...any ideas?

where abouts in or out on the car does it seem to be coming from

I have that intermittently on the offside, disappears when a certain amount of lock is applied - going to have to sort it out before the weather is good enough for roof down motoring.

Hi Both,

Its coming from my wheels, seems really loud at times and is very annoying .

The squeaky noise has only developed in the last 4 weeks, doesn't happen when I'm breaking, it's as I'm on the move and on the straight.

Any ideas now??

Whilst I'm here, Iv'e got a new 'Rip' gear knob to match the colour of my car (shallow I know, but hey youv'e gotta have some fun!), but the exisiting gear knob seems to be held on pretty solid, doesn't want to turn or be pulled off, afraid to use too much force :rolleyes: ... in case I strip the thread, if there is any. Has anyone else done this??

have had a couple like this,turned out to be dry wheel bearings,whenfitted to the car insufficant grease not added to bearing unit.after a short while the bearing becomes dr y and starts to squeak.new required...

as for gear knob.u have to pull as hard as ,srtaight up,until you think you are going to push your bowl out. when you stop breathing.....then you know you are pulling hard enough.what im trying to say is they are f.... tight.
